Getting started is simple. Here’s what to expect from your first mobile hygiene visit.
Reach out & book
Contact us by phone, email or the form below. We will contact you on the phone to start our personalized care plan. We will go over your items such oral health history, overall health information and answer any questions you may have. You can share your insurance details in advance and we’ll arrange direct billing so there are no surprises. We work with most major Canadian insurance providers.
We come to you
All appointments take place in the comforts of your home. We arrive at your home with all professional equipment — fully sterilized and ready to go. All we ask is access to an electrical outlet and a sink. No travel time or waiting rooms involved!

Personalized & unrushed care. A thorough hygiene appointment including assessment, cleaning, polishing, and personalized oral health guidance — exactly what you’d receive at a dental office, without leaving home.

Is mobile dental hygiene as thorough as a dental office? ﹀
Yes! absolutely. As a Registered Dental Hygienist licensed with the CDHO, the clinical care is identical to what you’d receive in a dental office. We bring professional-grade equipment including an ultrasonic scaler and follow all the same protocols.
What areas do you serve? ﹀
We serve the Region of Waterloo, including Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Woolwich, Wellesley, Wilmot, and North Dumfries. If you’re unsure whether we cover your area, please reach out and ask.
Do you direct bill insurance? ﹀
Yes! We direct bill to most major insurance providers in Canada including CDCP, HSO, NHIB programs. Please have your insurance information ready when you book and we’ll take care of sending an estimate for your treatment. We will also bill directly to your insurance company at the time of service. Any remaining balance is collected either at the time of your appointment or once a response is received from your claim. If you do not have insurance, we can provide you with an estimate based on your needs.
What do I need to prepare for the visit? ﹀
Very little! Working space, an electrical outlet and a sink. We bring all the professional equipment to you.
Is the equipment properly sterilized? ﹀
Your safety is our highest priority. Which is why we have chosen Steri-Ontario for our sterilization needs. They follow rigorous sterilization protocols set out by Public Health Ontario. Records are provided and maintained for 10 years, adhering fully to IPAC principles as required by Public Health Ontario.
Can you see seniors or people with mobility challenges? ﹀
This is one of the most rewarding aspects of mobile hygiene. We regularly serve older adults, retirement community residents, persons in Long Term Care facilities and individuals who find it difficult to travel to a dental office. Everyone deserves excellent oral health care.
What if I need a dentist for additional treatment? ﹀
As a dental hygienist, we provide preventive and therapeutic hygiene services. If we identify a concern requiring a dentist or other oral health care provider, we’ll provide a written assessment and referral. If needed, we can help you find a local dental provider or specialist.
How long does an appointment take? ﹀
A standard cleaning and assessment typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. First-time appointments may take slightly longer for a thorough health history. We never rush, you have our full, undivided attention.
What are your fees?﹀
In Ontario, the Dental Hygiene fee guide are typically lower than dental fee guides offering lower cost to have dental hygiene treatment. During your dental assessment, we will develop a personalized treatment plan for the services based on your needs.

Welcome! I’m the founder of The Dental Hygienist, a mobile dental hygiene practice built on one simple belief: quality oral health care should be accessible to everyone, wherever they are.
I have been a dedicated Dental Hygienist with over 20 years experience in the dental field. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of dental settings gaining extensive experience in treating clients with complex periodontal and advanced dental conditions. In addition to clinical practice I have worked within Public Health and Seniors Oral Health programs where I developed a passion for improving access to care. I maintain a strong commitment to Infection Prevention Control Standards ensuring the highest standards of safety is met in every aspect of care.
I believe that every client deserves to feel respected, comfortable and cared for like family.
After years of working in busy dental offices, I saw firsthand how many people including seniors, busy parents, individuals with anxiety, those with mobility challenges were missing out on essential care simply because getting to an appointment was a barrier.
Mobile hygiene lets me combine my clinical training with genuine, personalized attention. No rushing between clients. Just you, your health, and the time focus on your specific needs for improved oral health.
I am a licenced member of the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) and follow all professional standards for clinical care, infection control, and patient safety.
